The Glitz & Glam of Oscar.

My favorite thing during award season is watching the preshow and the fashion extravaganza. Last night while watching the pre-Oscar show, I noticed a reoccuring trend. The color of gowns were beautiful,very eye catching, and similiar.  Many starlets played up the colors of spring.  An array of pastel, nude/neutral, violets and purples splashed against the ruby red carpet.  Preview some of my favorite looks. xoXo

Bottom's up!

Recently I came across an ad for the new bottom lash mascara by Clinique.  After reading countless reviews, most of them with very good feedback, I decided to test it out myself.  I mean $10 is a good price for a tube of mascara right? At the counter I received a small box. A really small box. I was a bit surprised that this mascara wasn't the standard size of every other tube. A little hesitant I went home with my purchase and scored some a couple of sample pack moisturizer. What, I like free. 

I have tiny brittle lashes that you can hardly identify, without a magnify glass. Looking for a mascara that works is a huge deal! I've tried a ton of mascaras that promise to bring out my bottom lash line. I've found that most of the time, the brushes are always too big and smeared everywhere leaving me looking like a raccoon. This product is different. It actually lives up to its name. The tube is super cute and chic. Doesn't clum and safe for contact lenses. The brush is TINY, perfect, and made specifically to grab the smallest lashes. Bottom line: modicum product with big results! Don't judge the little guys, looks can be deceiving!

Bottom Lash Mascara

Leopard Lady

I'm absolutely dying over all things leopard & cheetah.  I was not a big fan of animal design at first, but one of my favorite fashionable female forte, Rachel Zoe, has definately turned on my instinct for this exotic print.

As many of you know, leopard-prints have been prowling around this fall in a big way. Many of our favorite trendsetters have chosen to incorporate this look into their wardrobes by donning outerwear featuring said print.

Drug Store Finds

We all can't afford the higher end products sold in department stores.  Occasionally, we'll pick up one or two brands of the nicer things.  What we don't realize is some of the drugstore products are made by the exact same manufacturers, in the same factories, as high-priced department store brands.  A lot of what you pay for at department stores is the fancy packaging, promotional ads, and the promise that it's promoting.  Just do the research for yourself.  Here are some of the values that I myself, along with friends have tested and approved.  They work just the same for half the price!

Dial Antibacterial very inexpensive! This soap is gentle enough to remove eye makeup. I also found that in the summer, when my back & chest  is most prone to breakouts, this product uses is antibacterial power to help keep it clean & clear.

Garnier Fructis moisture rescue facial moisturizer.  This light weight moisturizer keeps skin quenched and supplies your skin with SPF.  It has a refreshing scent and comes in an easy dispense bottle.  Approx $7

ST. Ives Apricot Scrub.  Clean & scrub away dead skin on your face.  Perfect to use once or twice weekly.  Also works great to scrub & buff away dry skin on elbows and knees. Great apricot scent! Approx $5 



 Neutragena  Fresh Foaming Cleanser just a dime size amount will create a sud and splash of cleanliness for your face.  Great for all skin types, this product works double time to remove dirt and makeup, even eye makeup. Poof! clean as can be!  Approx $8

 Revlon ColorStay foundation makeup  is the best drugstore foundation I have came across by far.  It is light weight and has a medium to high coverage.  Looks fresh for up to 16 hours of wear and has SPF for those harsh sun rays.  Apply with fingers, brush, or sponge applicator. Approx $12

Maybelline Cover Stick this magic eraser vanishes scars and dark circles.  A cult classic that has been around for years not making a disappearing act anytime soon! Approx $6

 

 Revlon Photo Ready Powder this highly pigmented powder has a flawless cover and blends well into skin. With built in SPF. Use a powder brush to apply or the pouf puff it comes with for touch ups on the go. Approx $12

HAIR, EYES, LIPS                                                                                                    

Rimmel Glam Eyes Lash Flirt  the tiny comb-like brush makes an easy application for this bold mascara.  Great for applying to top and bottom lashes.  Holds curl in lashes, lengthens, and volume. Suitable for contact wearers, such as myself.  Easy to apply and remove. Comes in a pretty fancy tube as well. Love the crown! Approx $8

 

 N.Y.C Liquid Eyeliner in jet black my go inexpensive liquid liner.  Sport the look of a cat eye or play up eyes for a bold, beautiful look for a night on the town.  Easy precision brush, won't flake, apply to top or bottom lash line. Approx. $3

GOT 2B Smooth Operator hairspray light weight & not sticky.  Holds 'do into place. Easy to comb through as well.  And not to forget the "oh my gosh your hair smells soooo good" complement from the b.f. Approx $6

 

Smith's Roesbud Salve is heaven in a small tin.  Has multiple use for lips, dry skin, cuticles.  I also use this to turn powder eyeshadow creamy.  Sold in other scents including mint and my personal fave,strawberry. Approx $8

Rimmel Royal Gloss in sweet lust.  This lip gloss is light weight and not too greasy looking when applied.  Most glosses I've tried left the impression I had fried chicken to eat. This gloss comes in an easy to apply tube. No lip brush or mirror needed. Sweet Lust is one of my favorite colors! The perfect hint of pink great for any skin tone! Approx $6

 

JORDANA POP ART nail design.  This is probably one of my cheapest find and I am thrilled to have come across it.  This nail product comes with a precise brush to decorate your nails any way you want.  Have fun with different all the different designs & posibilities. Comes in a variety of colors!
